Historic preservation in all its forms is part of our mission here at Cinecon, and we’re delighted that this historic hotel will be our home during our milestone festival. Designed by architect Sam Reisbord and designer Alvin Lustig, the hotel first opened as the Beverly Carlton in 1948. Since that time, this mid-century gem has hosted such famous faces as Marilyn Monroe, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. In fact, you might recognize the hotel from “I Love Lucy,” when the building was used as a stand-in for the “Beverly Palms Hotel,” where the Ricardos and Mertzes stayed during their trip to Hollywood. Today, the hotel has been lovingly restored and is waiting to welcome our Cinecon family. You can find out more about our host hotel and its star-studded history HERE.
